Nicholson made two substitute appearances for Posh in the second half of the 2015-16 League One season in Graham Westley’s days as manager at London Road.

Posh took a punt on a player they’d spotted playing for Histon, but he was soon his way to Nuneaton, Barnet, Darlington, Hereford and Boston United.

Nicholson played eight League Two matches for Barnet and appeared in the National North Division play-off final for Boston United last season.

Sports saw off competition from several clubs who play at a higher level including Boston to sign the 26 year-old.

Sports manager Jimmy Dean said: “I’m pleased to get Jordan. He had a lot of clubs chasing him including Boston so it’s a real feather in our cap to have signed him.

“He can play as a number 10, but he can play out wide as well. He well have to get used to the way we play, but it’s an excellent signing for us.”
