BIG MATCH PREVIEW: Tafazolli will have '˜fire in his belly' for Blades visit

Ryan Tafazolli insists the Posh back four will cope with the challenge of facing one of League One's most dangerous strike pairings when leaders Sheffield United visit the ABAX Stadium on Saturday (February 11).

The division’s top scorer Billy Sharp will be looking to add to his 19 goals this season and he’s now partnered by powerful targetman James Hanson, a recent signing from Bradford City and a man who terrorised Posh at the ABAX last season.

Posh centre-back Tafazolli hasn’t played against either man - he was injured when the Blades beat Posh 1-0 at Bramall Lane in September - but he is certain to be well prepared for one of the biggest games of the season.

“We will watch clips of both of them in action,” Tafazolli stated. “We will be prepared and we will be confident of winning our battle.

“Sharp is one of the best finishers in the division and we can’t afford to give him any room, while Hanson is big and strong, but myself and Dominic Ball have developed a good understanding already.

“We complement each other well. Dominic is quick and reads the game well. He’s good on the ball, but he’s also prepared to stick his head in where it hurts.

“We’re all well up for this game. It’s one we all want to play in. It’s a game to put fire into your belly.

“We’re playing the best side in League One and it’s sure to be a big crowd and a great occasion.

“Sheffield will have over 4,000 fans cheering them on, but I know our supporters will match that support and get right behind us.

“It was a big win for us at Port Vale last weekend and now we want to start getting our home form right.

“I don’t believe there is any one reason why we’ve won more away games than home matches. I’m sure it’s just a co-incidence.

“We have played some good stuff at home in games we haven’t won, but we know we have to start picking up three points at our place more regularly if we are to get into the play-off places.

“I know it’s a cliche, but my own form is not as important as the team’s form. If we’re winning then I’m happy.

“I’ve done okay in some games, but it’s not something I dwell on as long as the manager keeps picking me.”

Tafazolli moved to Posh on a free transfer from League Two side Mansfield in July.
