Everything's rosy for Wilson

Deeping St James fished the Elm Pool at Decoy Lakes for the Doxham Rose Bowl at the weekend and for the second week running stand-in match secretary Andy Wilson was the matchwinner.

He drew corner peg 12 and landed 138lb 7oz. He started with a short pole line with pellet and sweetcorn, but soon switched to the margin, fishing sweetcorn and cat meat for better quality carp.

Second was Phil Price on peg 15 with 131lb 5oz followed by Alan Jopling on peg 13 with 120lb 15oz.

Dave Garner won the Fenland Rods handicap match on the Head Fen Fishery with a very respectable 168lb 4oz.

He fished luncheon meat close in on rod and line catching carp steadily all day.

Second was Mel Lutkin, followed by Les Bedford, Mac Campbell and Paul Smith.

COCK INN

Cock Inn fished their latest match on the Mixed Pool at Kingsland Fishery but with carp spawning no really big weights were taken.

Top rod once again was Chris Shortland, who drew peg seven on the car park side and weighed in with 57lb 14oz.

He caught with the waggler and maggot plus a few later on down the edge.

In second place was Steve Smith with 54lb 6oz, and third was Mick Sidney with 49lb 12oz.
