Peterborough Town CC start Premier Division campaign before attempting to plunder some early-season silverware
Peterborough Town have the chance to plunder some early-season silverware this weekend.
The city side have reached the Northants T20 Championship Finals Day which takes place at Geddington CC on Sunday (from 10am). Town were unbeaten in topping the qualifying group and tackle fourth-placed Kislingbury in the first semi-final. Reigning Premier Division champions Finedon contest the second semi-final against Stony Stratford.

Town would normally be favourites to beat Kislingbury, but the villagers have employed Northants staff members past and present Rob Keogh, Gus Miller and Alex Wakeley in qualification.
On Saturday Town host Loddington on the opening day of the Northants Premier Division season at Bretton Gate (11am). Loddington won Division One last season, but will probably find the going tough in the top flight. Town bowled them out for 37 in a T20 game earlier in the season.
Town finished second behind perennial champions Finedon last season despite beating them twice.
The city side will again rely heavily for runs on star man Josh Smith. The opener scored 1,322 runs in all Northants League competitions last season.
