Peterborough Town bounced back from a disappointing defeat against Brixworth to win emphatically against visitors Brigstock at Bretton Gate yesterday (August 25).

They won by seven wickets to remain second in the Northants League Premier Division table behind Finedon, who were also comfortable 20-point winners against Geddington.

David Sayer led the way with the ball with a 4-40 haul as Brigstock were bowled out for 161 in 48.2 overs. Matt Milner chipped in with 3-30 and Vansh Bajaj with 2-30.

Then 27.5 overs later Town were home and dry at 164-3, thanks in the main to an unbeaten 66 from opener Chris Milner and 49 not out from Vansh Bajaj. Skipper David Clarke made 31.

Oundle had to settle for a draw in their game at Rushden Town.

The hosts powered to a formidable 293-7 declared after 44 overs with Chanaka Ruwansiri smashing 117 off just 82 balls.

Harrison Craig was Oundle’s best bowler with figures of 4-113 off 15 overs.

Oundle took up the chase with opener Peter Foster making 95 but eventually, as wickets started to fall, they settled for the draw at 280-9 off 56 overs.
