Market Deeping club cricketer is a double World Cup winner
Market Deeping Cricket Club all-rounder Nick Andrews is a double World Cup winner.
Andrews was part of the England team to win the Over 70s World Cup by 15 runs after a thrilling, high-scoring final at the renowned Hagley Oval in Christchurch, New Zealand on Thursday.

It was a re-run of the final in the inaugural World Cup competition which England also won with the help of Andrewson home soil in 2024.
Andrews didn’t bat today as England piled 288-3 in their 45 overs, but he took 1-45 from eight overs of off-spin as Australia replied with 273-5 to make it five wickets at a decent economy rate in the tournament.
England confirmed their qualification for the final with a 168-run win over a Rest of the World team and a 112-run win over the United States. Andrews, who is a former Peterborough Town player, scored a handy 28 and returned miserly figures of 0-10 from six overs against the USA. He took 2-13 from six overs against the Rest of the World.
In a successful month-long tour England also recorded a 3-0 ‘Silver Ashes’ whitewash of the Aussies Down Under.
