Adidda ace smacks 184, Newborough celebrations delayed, Bennett blast seals title for Bretton, Sri Lankan has March in a spin

An astonishing innings from top man Raghavendran Suryanarayanan enabled Adidda to pull off a terrific run chase against nine-man Hemingford Park in HUnts Division Four.

Hemingford piled up 332-6 in their 45 overs, but an unbeaten 184 from Suryanarayanan saw Adidda home with six overs to spare. He struck eight sixes and 26 fours. Adidda have clinched promotion behind champions Weriington who were beaten at Easton-on-the-Hill.

Newborough Bulls blew their first chance to seal the Division One title as they lost to second-placed AK 11 by four wickets. Shazad Amir (54) and Mohammed Nadeem Zahid (44) rescued AK from early trouble with an unbroken seventh-wicket stand of 81 to steer their side past Newborough’s 166. Zahid also took 4-23. Newborough need just 12 points from their final two matches to secure the title and a return to Cambs League cricket.

Bretton sealed the Division Three title with a convincing 82-run win over Peterborough Town thirds in their final match. Andy Bennett (94no) was their star man.

Charlie Talbot recorded the first half century of his senior career to help Castor seconds to a 60-run win over Brampton in Division Four. The 17 year-old struck 54 of his side’s 195-5. Bon Dunn made 53.

Run machine Matthew Ingram registered his sixth ton of the summer and passed 1,000 runs for the Northants Division Three season for Oundle Town 2nds. Ingram made 111, but Oundle lost to Wellingborough OGs by 46 runs.

Rutland Division Two champions Market Deeping routed March for 45 at Outgang Road with Sri Lankan leg spinner Sacihtra Perera taking 5-0 in 11 balls. All his victims were bowled. Deeping won by nine wickets.

Ufford Park and Stamford Town fought out a thrilling tie in Division Two. Danny Harrington (68), Tanvir Hussain (62no) and Neil Buckingham (62) all scored well in Ufford’s 260-5 and the villagers looked set for a handsome win until Scott Chamberlain’s 90 gave Stamford the chance of victory. Stamford lost a wicket from the last ball of the match to finish 260 all out.
