Saturday’s Rookery Waters winter qualifier was split over two lakes.

Top spot on the Jay Lake went to Wayne Shephard on peg two. He fished bread on the long pole to put a very respectable 72lb 6oz. Runner-up was Tony Lee on corner peg 11 with 49lb 6oz.

Over on the much harder Magpie Pool it was Dave Walker on peg 19 taking the honours. He fished bread long to put a hard earned 30lb 10oz of carp and rudd on the scales. Tim Bates came second with 22lb 15oz.

DECOY OVER 55s

The latest match in the Decoy Lakes Over 55s winter series was on the Elm Pool and Chris Saunders finished first with 30lb 4oz. In second place was Jay Richardson on 12lb 10oz, followed by Vince Hull on 6lb 5oz

Points after 10 matches: 1 Chris Saunders 21pts; 2 Roy Whincup 34pts; 3 Mick King 39pts.

FLOAT FISH FARM

The midweek Float Fish Farm Over 50s match was fished on the Wagtail Pool and like most waters at this time of year hot pegs often produce weights even in the worst of conditions.

Peg 11 was the one to draw and Jon Final was the lucky recipient. He made no mistake to win with 39lb 13oz.

Close by was runner-up Roy Wells with 35lb 7oz followed by Danny Carlton on 25lb 14oz.

TYDD GOTE

Those fishing the midweek Tydd Gote match on the North Level drain missed the worst of the weather.

They did have a bitterly cold wind to contend with but plenty of fish still fed.

Top rod was again Andrew Kilby with a fine mixed bag weighing 19lb 8oz.

Runner-up was John Taylor on 16lb 2oz.
