If your idea of a perfect girls' trip involves singing along to the songs you grew up with, this holiday break is for you.
I've found a brilliant idea for a girls' weekend away, and it's guaranteed to bring back memories of singing into a hairbrush in front of the bedroom mirror. If, like me, you grew up with 90s and 00s pop, Parkdean Resorts' Celebrity Weekender looks like a fun excuse to get your friends together, relive your favourite music memories and enjoy a few nights away.
The holiday park breaks feature a line-up of familiar names from the pop scene, including Kerry Katona, Bradley McIntosh from S Club, Oritsé Williams from JLS, East 17, Natasha Hamilton from Atomic Kitten and Liberty X.
For anyone who remembers learning the dance routines to their favourite music videos, belting out boyband ballads or getting ready for a night out to the biggest girlband hits, this sounds like the kind of weekend where the nostalgia is just as important as the entertainment.
What I like about the idea is that it isn't simply about watching performances and heading home. Parkdean's Celebrity Weekenders combine accommodation with themed entertainment and activities, giving friends the chance to make a whole trip out of it. Depending on the break and park, activities can include silent discos, fancy dress, Bingo GA-GA and other themed events. There are also food and drink options and holiday park facilities to enjoy between the entertainment.
I'd be getting the group chat going well in advance, deciding on outfits and making a playlist of our favourite throwback hits before we even set off. A themed weekend is a good excuse to dress up, take plenty of photos and enjoy a proper catch-up away from everyday routines.
Where can you book a Parkdean Celebrity Weekender?
Parkdean Resorts runs its Celebrity Weekender events at selected holiday parks around the UK, with different themes and performers depending on the dates and location. The weekends celebrate boybands and girlbands, 80s music, 90s and 00s hits, and other nostalgic themes. Some breaks run for three nights, although prices and availability depend on the event you choose.
You can explore the available dates, parks, line-ups and prices on the official Parkdean Resorts Celebrity Weekender website. I'm tempted to get my friends together and make a proper weekend of it. After all, a little 90s nostalgia, a few pop classics and time away with your favourite people sounds like a pretty good combination.
