Ferry Meadows and other parts of the Nene Park have been hit by flood waters following heavy rain over the past week in Peterborough - and to avoid the water, there have been reports of a number of people walking along the Nene Valley Railway tracks.

However, bosses at Nene Valley Railway and Nene Park are urging people not to use the tracks.

A spokesman for the park said: "Our friends at Nene Valley Railway have let us know that there have been numerous reports of people walking on the railway tracks to avoid the flood water at Nene Park. This is unsafe and also trespassing. Please can everyone stay off the tracks and keep to the footpaths. Thank you!"
