Peterborough police car gets stuck in flood waters

The car had to be rescued after an officer tried to drive through water at the Nene Parkway underpass in Orton Malborne on Saturday morning.
A reader sent a picture of the car being rescued to The Peterborough Telegraph.

Hide AdA Cambridegshire police spokesman said: “At about 10.20am on Saturday (6 February) an officer attempted to drive through about two feet of water close to the Nene Parkway in Orton.
“As a result of this action the vehicle needed to be recovered. An assessment of the damage to the vehicle has not yet been completed.
“The officer was not responding to an emergency call when the incident happened.”
Cambridgeshire has been hit with a number of floods throughout the winter as heavy rain and snow has fallen on the county.
Drivers should not attempt to drive through flood waters.
