Two rescued from flat fire in Peterborough

Two people were rescued by firefighters following a flat fire in Peterborough

At 3.55am on Sunday December 10 one crew from Dogsthorpe and one crew from Stanground were called to a fire on Finchley Green in West Town, Peterborough.

Firefighters arrived to find a fire in a flat. They rescued two occupants from the building.

Wearing breathing apparatus the crews extinguished the fire using a hose reel and returned to their stations by 5.15am.

The cause of the fire was accidental.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: "We received a call at 4.21am on 10th December to a report of two patients.

"An ambulance crew attended. However, no one required transport to hospital."
