New A47 closures in Peterborough announced

New closures on the A47 in Peterborough have been announced.

Works are expected to take place between the Dogsthorpe/Paston Parkway Roundabout and the Hodney Road Roundabout from Monday, November 2 (between 8pm and 6am) for a week..

This is to enable carriageway resurfacing and general routine maintenance works to be carried out safely.

While the works are carried out, the following closures are due to be in place:

. The eastbound carriageway between the A47/A15 Dogsthorpe/Paston Parkway Roundabout and the A47/A16 Welland Road Roundabout, including the exit and entry slip roads at Newborough Road

• The eastbound and westbound carriageways between the A47/A16 Welland Road Roundabout and the A47/A139 Hodney Road Roundabout.

Traffic would be diverted to exit the A47 at Junction 20 then via the A15 southbound and A1139 northbound to re-join the A47 at A47/A1139 Hodney Road Roundabout and vice versa.

Eastbound traffic wishing to join the A16 would use this diversion route then continue eastbound on the A47 to join the B1040 then the B1443 westbound to join the A16.

Further road closures have also been announced. These are at:

. Clarence Road, Millfield, between English Street and Searjeant Street to repair communication pipes.

It is expected that the works will take place between Monday, October 19 and the Wednesday.

. Tallington Road between B1443 and Main Road, Stamford, for pre-surface dressing works.

It is expected that the works will take place between Monday, October 19 and Friday, October 30.

. Little Close, off Eyebury Road, for gas works.

It is expected that the works will take place between Monday, October 19 and Friday, October 30.
