Gridlock in Peterborough due to broken down vehicle and roadworks

There is a huge build up of traffic across Peterborough this afternoon due to roadworks and broken down vehicles.

There are lengthy delays on the Frank Perkins Parkway southbound between the Eye Roundabout and Stanground turning which is reportedly due to a lane closure for emergency repair works.

The AA is reporting that the closure will be in place until February 22.

There was also a broken down vehicle on the Nene Parkway southbound which caused long delays - although this has just been recovered - and queues on the A605 heading towards King’s Dyke due to temporary traffic lights which are said to be due to electricity works.
