Foot and cycle path alongside River Nene in Peterborough closed for Green Wheel improvements
A foot and cycle path running alongside the River Nene in Peterborough has been shut to allow improvements to the Green Wheel
The path in Woodston, which also runs alongside the Nene Valley Railway tracks, has been closed at the Wharf Road crossing.
A Peterborough City Council spokesperson said; "The footway closure that is in place behind Wharf Road forms part of the green wheel improvements scheme. The scheme involves widening of the existing layout and resurfacing using a flexible and permeable material to cope with tree roots.
"The programme is on schedule and is due for completion on 6th April 2021."
