Disruption on train services between Peterborough and London after person hit by train
There is severe disruption on the train lines between Peterborough and London after a person was hit by a train near Hitchin.
A spokesman for Great Northern Railway said: "It is with great sadness that we have to report a person being hit by a train between Hitchin and Welwyn Garden City. All lines via Stevenage will disrupted whilst emergency services deal with this incident.
"We are expecting severe disruption to all services between Cambridge / Peterborough and London, as well as some services via Hertford North. You are advised to delay travel until later today where possible. Alternative routes should also be considered. "
The disruption is expected to last for most of the morning.
