Delays on main Peterborough road and railways after lorry hits bridge

There are delays on Oundle Road in Woodston, Peterborough and on all train services in and out of the city after a lorry collided with a bridge.

One lane is blocked under the railway bridge near the Fair Meadow Car Park at the junction with Town Bridge this afternoon following the incident.

There is also major disruption on train lines in and out of the city.

A spokesman for National Rail Enquiries said; "A road vehicle has struck a bridge in the Peterborough area resulting in all lines being blocked.

Trains running between Peterborough and Hitchin may be cancelled or delayed by up to 20 minutes. Disruption is expected until 17:15."
