Last weekend Nene Parkway was closed northbound between Morley Way and Longthorpe Parkway.
The works caused gridlock traffic for some of the weekend in the south of the city as motorists attempted to work round the closure.

A Peterborough City Council spokeswoman said: "Last weekend there were planned works taking place including a closure of the northbound carriageway of Nene Parkway (between its junctions with Morley Way and Longthorpe Parkway).
"A signed diversion was provided however motorists sought to use alternative routes which then became congested, and the reported problems occurred.
"There will be further lane closures throughout this week on Nene Parkway to enable removal of the access scaffolding under the bridge but there are no further full closures planned.
"We apologise for delays to motorists' journeys and ask that diversions are always fully followed."
