Calls to Cambridgeshire police double in a day as heavy rain causes flooding on county roads

A large number of roads - including some main routes - have been closed following heavy rain yesterday and overnight.

Hide AdThe spokesman said: "We have received 63 calls concerning road-related incidents from 12pm yesterday (23 December) to 10am today (24 December).
"“This compares to 31 on Tuesday (22 December).
“Not all of these are due to flooding, but we are experiencing increased demand for service. Particularly in the south of the county.”
