Eight vehicle pile-up closes part of A1M near Peterborough

Cambridgeshire Police have now confirmed six cars and two HGVs were involved in the crash at 8.06am on the southbound carriageway between Sawtry and Yaxley.

Two of four lanes were closed while emergency services attend the scene.

Ambulance crews attended the scene and the driver of one of the cars has been taken to hospital after a suspected medical episode.

Nobody else is thought to have suffered serious injuries in the crash but there were long delays while the eight vehicles were moved to the hard shoulder and recovery arranged.
