Delays on Nene Parkway after multi-vehicle crash

A multi-vehicle crash on the Nene Parkway is causing delays for motorists.

A lane is blocked northbound after the incident near a roundabout heading towards Orton Malborne.

Police were called at 12.43 today (Wednesday, August 24) to reports of a five-vehicle collision.

A spokesman said people were being treated for injuries.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said it had been called at 12.42 to a three-vehicle collisio.

Three ambulance crews, a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance officer were all sent to the scene.

Four patients are requiring treatment. One is a woman and another is a child, with no more information currently available on the other two people.

Their injuries are not thought to be serious.

An ambulance containing at least one patient has gone to Peterborough City Hospital.

Firefighters were also at the crash and are said to have cut a driver out of one of the cars.
