Cyclist seriously hurt in Fletton crash

A cyclist was seriously injured in a crash on a Peterborough road.

The crash happened at about 6pm on Friday, January 8 on Fletton High Street.

It involved a male cyclist, aged in his 30s, and a white Hyundai.

The cyclist became trapped under the car during the collision, and police, fire and ambulance services were all called, as was the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

The road was closed until 7.15pm while fire fighters used specialist equipment to release the man.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said the man had suffered a serious pelvis injury, and had been taken to Peterborough City Hospital for further treatment.
