Seven people injured after three-vehicle crash in Spalding

Seven people, including two children, were injured after a three vehicle crash in Spalding on Sunday.

A Mini, a Nissan Micra and Vauxhall Vivaro van all collided on the A16 near Childers’ South Drove at 10.20am.

A 48 year-old woman who was in the Mini and a 65 year-old woman from the Micra were flown to Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham, where their condition is described as stable.

The others in the Micra, a man (68) who was driving, woman (39), boy (9) and girl (8), all from the Peterborough area, plus a man (49) from Grimsby who was driving the Mini, were all treated at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston, for less serious injuries.

However, the driver of the van was unhurt.

The road was closed for more than three hours while the casualties were treated by paramedics and the road was cleared.
