Retail guru Corin Birchall of Kerching Retail will be hosting special workshops in Grantham, Stamford, Bourne and Market Deeping, with the offer of 70 top tips delivered within two hours.

His advice is designed to get the tills ringing, increase footfall and repeat visits, and understand customer psychology.

Businesses will benefit from Corin’s experience working with high street brands across Europe such as Harrods, Debenhams, House of Fraser, as well as hundreds of independent businesses.

Workshops will include making shop windows work better, pricing strategies to get customers spending more, and what to do with prime spaces.

Retailers will hear everything from which words get customers falling over themselves to buy products, to even whether the scent of the shop generates sales or discourages them, as well as what music gets people buying.

The retail kickstarter workshops are part of an SKDC contract working with the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce as part of its business support package.

The workshops are aimed at independent retailers of various experience levels, taking delegates through a virtual 70-point retail audit and highlighting learning opportunities.

Retailers will be able to implement the toolkit immediately, but one-to-one advice is also available as part of the SK4Business support programme.

Corin’s message to businesses is upbeat, saying: “I love seeing the reaction from business owners when they realise how much they can still achieve that is under their control. Sure, it’s tough out there, but you can still flourish. Rest assured, your head will be buzzing with ideas you can implement the next day.”

Locations and dates for the workshops are as follows:

* Grantham - February 24. Newton Room, Guildhall Arts Centre 6 - 8pm
