Thousands of people in the city have applied for postal votes ahead of the local elections, which take place on Thursday.

Today a Peterborough City Council spokesman said: “If you have applied to vote by post in the elections on Thursday 6 May and your postal vote pack has not yet arrived, please contact our elections team as soon as possible on (01733) 452249.”

Around 24,000 postal votes have been issued by the council this year, an increase of more than 43 per cent compared to the 2019 elections.
