Prominent retailers invest £3 million in Peterborough's Queensgate Shopping Centre
Leading retailers have invested more than £3 million in Peterborough’s Queensgate Shopping Centre as they seek to attract greater numbers of customers.
Prominent brands such as pharmacy giant Boots and clothing retailer Primark have made significant investments recently as they expanded the size of their stores and their product offer.
The figure has been released following the completion of Boots’ refurbishment of its 64,000 square feet store to create a new interior look and complete its beauty hall makeover.
It means customers can now find more than 15 new beauty brands launching for the first time including Charlotte Tillbury, Sol De Janeiro, Chanel, Huda, Made by Mitchel Rituals, Morphe, Catrice, She Glam, Neom, First Aid beauty and more.

Clothing giant Primark has also recently completed its refurbishment of its 59,000 square feet store that sites across two storeys of the shopping centre. .
The retailer’s investment has produced a modern store environment with an improved layout to highlight its fashion, beauty and home collections, plus 18 new self-checkouts across both floors.
The refurbishments have helped provide an extra 100,000 square feet of floor space.

Opticians Vision Express has recently reopened its updated store in Queensgate’s Central Mall, bringing in a new design alongside enhanced clinical technology – including a new dry eye machine.
Ed Ginn, director of investment management at Invesco Real Estate, which owns the shopping centre, said: "The ongoing investment from our tenants has been transformative for Queensgate and is a key driver behind the growth across the scheme in recent months.
"Delivering the best customer experience and a market-leading retail offer has always been the priority, as well as ensuring visitors can shop the best brands including their latest concepts.
"Boots and Primark remain key anchor brands for the scheme, and Vision Express is delivering more experiential healthcare services, reinforcing the strength and quality of our tenant mix."
The latest enhancements to the 44-year-old shopping centre come shortly after the arrival late last year of retail giant Frasers and its popular brands Flannels, USC, Jack Wills and GAME across 92,500 square feet of floor space.
Mr Ginn said: “The signing of Frasers Group was a significant step in our drive to transform Queensgate into a leading retail and leisure destination.
"Positioned in the top one per cent of UK shopping centres, we are committed to investing in brands that will enhance the centre and share our ethos for excellence, innovation and providing an exemplary experience.”
