Labour's Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell to give Q&A in Peterborough

Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell is taking part in a question and answer session in Peterborough this evening (Thursday, January 21) for the launch event of the Momentum North Cambs group.

The Labour front-bencher will be at The Fleet Community Centre, Fleet Way, Fletton, from 7pm.

Momentum is an organisation which supports Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, and the local branch covers areas including Peterborough, Wisbech, March, St Ives, Huntingdon and the rural areas in between.

Mr McDonnell will be joined by other speakers including Ron Graves – president of the Peterborough Trades Union Council, Jo Rust from Unison, Steve Jansky from the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, human rights lawyer, writer and critic Jocelynne Scutt, and George Welch from the RMT.

Mr McDonnell was asked to take part in the Q&A by Momentum North Cambs’ chair, Chris York.

The evening will also see Labour’s three candidates to stand as Cambridgeshire’s Police And Crime Commissioner in May put forward their arguments for why they should be chosen.
