Plans to turn former pharmacy in Peterborough car sales office approved
Plans to replace a former pharmacy in Peterborough with a car sales office have been approved.
Plans were submitted by M A Iqbal Architecture in December to convert the former Halls The Chemist on 92 Peterborough Road, Stanground. Some dental services were also available at the unit.
The unit has been vacant since May 2025.
A new lease holder has taken over the premises on a long-term lease and will now turn the site into a premises for car sales.

Plans state that there would be no changes made to the premises externally and that existing car parking spaces would be retained for the car sales area, staff and customer parking.
Permission has granted for operating hours of 9am-6:30pm Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm Saturday and 10am-4pm Sunday and Bank holidays.
The application stated that: “The business provides an online sales provision with an appointment booking system, which would be the main source of development of car sales. The applicant has an existing car sales operation, so they are fully aware of the needs and methods to operate a business of this nature, without the need to saturate the site.
"The applicant is set up that any car that is sold would be replaced on a vehicle by vehicle method so that there will not be the need for car low loaders to be used, and cars would be brought to site on an individual basis, so that no noticeable disruption would occur.”
