Lebanese grill and dessert lounge 'Creations Lounge' in Peterborough set to be converted into shop

Previous plans to turn the building into a shisha lounge have been rejected.

Plans have been drawn up for the former Creations Lounge in Peterborough to be converted into a convenience store have been submitted.

The Lebanese grill and dessert lounge, at 2 Burghley Road, closed its doors in early 2022.

Plans for a shisha lounge to take its place were refused in August 2023.

New plans have now been submitted to extend the building to create a larger convenience shop/mini market.

Towards the front the new shop would be a temporary retractable awning which would be used to create a shaded space during the summer or sheltered front on a rainy day.

The application adds: "Within the local vicinity of the existing building there are no similar shops or convince stores, with the nearest being at the corner of Eastfield road and monument street to the west.

"We believe this will be a welcome and convenient addition to the residential properties within the immediate vicinity and by nature will be a significantly less intrusive addition to the area than the previous use of the building.”

The application can be viewed on Peterborough City Council’s planning portal using reference 24/01081/FUL.
