Police make arrest after reports of a man carrying a knife in Peterborough

Police in Peterborough have made an arrest following reports of a man carrying a knife last night (November 21).

Police were called after reports a man had been seen carrying a knife in Lincoln Road near the junction with Burghley Road at around 10.15pm.

Residents reported a large police presence in the area with a number of vehicles and sniffer dogs.

A police spokesperson told the Peterborough Telegraph that a man had subsequently been arrested.

The spokesperson said: “We were called to reports of a male with a knife.

“A number of officers deployed straight away and were at the scene within three minutes of the call.

“A male was later arrested for possession of an offensive weapon.”

The man was arrested at around 11.30pm.
