A Peterborough pensioner remains in a serious condition in hospital a week after a collision in a supermarket car park.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the collision that happened at about 9.10am on Wednesday, December 2 in the Sainsbury's car park in Oxney Road.

The driver of a black Volkswagen Sharan lost control as they attempted to park and struck a woman in her 70s before crashing into the front wall of the Sainsbury's store.

The woman, who is from Peterborough, was taken to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge where she remains in a serious condition.

The driver of the car, a woman in her 40s, was taken to Peterborough City Hospital with a serious leg injury.

Police are now looking to speak to any witnesses or anyone who has dashcam footage of the collision or the car just prior.
