Peterborough drivers urged to '˜drive to the conditions' following series of crashes on wet roads

Police have urged motorists to '˜drive to the conditions' after a series of crashes and accidents on slippery roads today (Tuesday).

This morning officers attended six incidents in the city - and while only minor injuries were reported, a spokesman said: “We are currently urging drivers to drive appropriately for the weather conditions.

“Police have attended a number of collisions this morning, which have been caused by drivers not driving suitably for the current conditions.”

*At 8.50am today to a single vehicle damage-only collision involving a silver MG convertible which had left the road at Fletton Parkway, A1139 Orton Malborne.

*At about 9.25am today to a single vehicle damage-only collision involving a red Ford Focus just before the roundabout at Nene Parkway, A1260.

*Whilst officers were on their way to the incident they discovered another damage only collision on the other carriageway involving a grey Toyota Yaris. Both vehicles were recovered at 11.40am.

*At about 9.35am they were called to an overturned van in a ditch on Ramsey Road, near to the Gosling Drove junction. No injuries were reported.

*At about 11.50am today to a two vehicle collision on the junction between Ramsey Road and Church Road.

Ambulance services attended as minor injuries were reported.

The collision involved a grey Volvo xc90 and a purple BMW 3 series.

*At just after 8am today to a collision between a car and motorbike on Bishops Road, Eastgate.

Ambulance crew attended the scene and no injuries were reported.
