Person taken to hospital after major house fire

At 7.42pm on Friday more than 20 firefighters were called out to Marritt Close, including crews from Chatteris, Stanground, Ramsey, Manea and March.
Flames were raging through the roof of the building when the firefighters arrived at the scene.

Hide AdThe crews spend the evening tackling the blaze before returning to their stations by 1.15am.
A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “One casualty was taken to hospital by ambulance for smoke inhalation.
“The cause of the fire was accidental.”
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “An ambulance and an ambulance officer vehicle were called to Marritt Close, Chatteris, shortly after 8pm on Friday May 22 following reports of a house fire, and someone injured in a road traffic collision.
“Two persons were assessed at the scene and one woman was transported to Hinchingbrooke Hospital.”
