Where you can see the Red Arrows flying over Peterborough today

The Red Arrows will be holding a UK-wide fly-over today (August 15) to commemorate VJ-Day, with the display team route passing over Peterborough.

The fly-over is to mark the 75th anniversary of Victory over Japan Day, which commemorates allied victory in the Second World War, following the surrender of Japan on August 15, 1945.

It will begin from the display team’s base at RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire at 10:44am and will complete a loop of the UK, passing over Edinburgh, Belfast, Cardiff and London.

According to their official schedule, the Red Arrows are expected over north west Folksworth at 5:50pm, before passing over the south of Peterborough, including Yaxley and Farcet, before heading north over Parnwell, Eye and Newborough on their way to Donnington for 5:54pm.

With the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, no official public celebrations are being held to mark the VJ-Day anniversary but Peterborough Cathedral is hosting a service that can be streamed via theirs and Peterborough City Council’s Facebook pages at 3pm.
