Thousands visit Peterborough Cathedral Lego exhibition in first week
The new Lego exhibition at Peterborough Cathedral has proved a major hit – building on the success of other attractions at the historic building this year.
The huge Titanosaur arrived at the Cathedral earlier this year and is still in place, and the Longest Yarn exhibition was also a big hit.
But with more than 5,000 people visiting the Travelling Bricks Lego exhibit in its first week, the latest addition is already exceeding expectations.
Families from across the region and beyond have been exploring the exhibition made from over 1 million Lego bricks – with dozens of incredible models on display, including the space shuttle, Titanic and Concorde, taking part in interactive building activities, hunting for the coveted Golden Brick, and discovering the Cathedral in a whole new way.

One lucky visitor, Kian Aujla, struck gold after finding the hidden Golden Brick, winning a family IMAX ticket and £30 in snacks and drinks and becoming the first of this summer's Golden Brick champions. Every week of the exhibit, a Golden Brick will be hidden with prizes up for grabs from city centre partners.
Jack Pishhorn, COO at Peterborough Cathedral, has been delighted by the response: He said: “While it's fantastic to have welcomed more than 5,000 visitors in just six days, the greatest joy has been watching families spend real time together. Seeing children, parents and grandparents sitting side by side in the Brick Pit, building, laughing and creating together is a wonderful reminder that the simplest experiences are often the most memorable.
“In a world dominated by screens, it's been heartening to see people of all ages reconnect through play, imagination and creativity. It's also been wonderful to welcome so many people into Peterborough Cathedral, with many staying for hours to enjoy both the exhibition and this remarkable historic building.
“Just as importantly, these visitors are helping bring extra footfall into the city centre, supporting local cafés, shops and businesses. We're proud that Travelling Bricks is not only creating lasting family memories but also making a positive contribution to Peterborough as a whole.”
