Wanting to make sure no-one feels alone during lockdown, close friends Chloe Templeman and Katie Warren have been leaving trails of positive messages across bridges in the city.

The notes were filled with heart-warming messages such as: “Don’t give up, you’re too important” and “Hold on, pain ends.”

Drawn on bright cards, the messages are also filled with colourful drawings and laminated so they should withstand the weather.

Chloe was inspired by seeing someone else post similar messages on another bridge in Glinton.

She said: “We thought it was a lovely idea and wanted to do the same.

“We want to help prevent suicide and spread positivity and love in these tough times!

“Most of all we hope that it will prevent anyone considering suicide and we hope they will continue their fight and reach out for support.”

The pair met when they were volunteering for mental health charity, Don’t Lose Hope based in Bourne.

Throughout the lockdown, the caring duo have been using their spare time to promote good mental health by helping out at the charity’s mobile bus shop.

Hoping to spread smiles, they have been giving away cakes and flowers to those who have had special occasions to celebrate during lockdown.

Having raised £1200 through fundraising, the duo hope people will donate to the charity https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/katiechloequotes and to get in touch with Don’t Lose Hope if you are needing any mental health support.

Don’t Lose Hope is a charity that offers a professional counselling service for all members of the community from age 4 upwards. Don’t Lose Hope also provides a community cafe and garden area where any members of the community can find someone to talk to, take part in activities and make friends.
