Spice giant gives go ahead for job creating operations hub in Peterborough
The American behemoth, which operates across 150 countries, has just completed the purchase of a nine hectares site at Plot 113, Forli Strada, Alwalton Hill, at Peterborough Gateway.
The deal comes shortly after Peterborough City Council approved plans for the 59,118 square metres food processing factory, which councillors were told was likely to create 300 jobs.

Hide AdNow construction of the factory is expected to begin soon with work being carried out in two phases, probably over 10 years.
Along with storage and distribution facilities, the development will include a two storey office block and a singe storey transport hub with a total of 32 HGV parking bays.
A spokesperson for McCormick & Co said: “We can confirm that we have completed the land purchase for our new manufacturing facility in Peterborough.
“This is an exciting development for McCormick and the construction phase of the project will start imminently.

Hide Ad“Whilst it is too early in the process to provide details around future job creation, McCormick will be putting the local community at the heart of the operation, including local employment opportunities.”
McCormick joins an illustrious list of job-creating new arrivals to Peterborough.
So far the new comers include food supplier AM Fresh at Peterborough Gateway, which is taking on about 120 staff and fashion and homewares retailer Urban Outfitters, also at Peterborough Gateway.

Hide AdTheir arrival will be an important stimulus for the Peterborough economy, which has been hit by the coronavirus pandemic with a number of employers shedding jobs.
Figures released by the Department of Works and Pensions show the number of people claiming Universal Credit rose last month by 4.7 per cent to 23,077 people.
