The charity's Personal Family Support Workers and Social Workers are contracted by the RAF to work alongside station welfare team’s and provide welfare support to service personnel and their families. They are based at RAF Stations all over the country, but we would like to recognise the team based at RAF Wittering in Peterborough for their achievement of receiving an AOC 38 Groups Commendation.
The Welfare Team can consist of different members dependant on the station but generally has OC PMS (Officer Commanding), WO PMS (Warrant Officer), Padre, SMO (Senior Medical Officer) and a Personal & Family Support Worker.
Paula Finch, Personal & Family Support worker at RAF Wittering said: “Every member of the team plays a vital part of making it work and RAF Wittering is a prime example of how this works exceptionally well.”

The recognition in The Queen’s Birthday Honours is richly deserved; all in SSAFA congratulate them and thank them for their dedication and hard work.”
