£10k donation to cricket club for pavilion upgrade

A donation of £10,000 has been given to a cricket club to upgrade its pavilion.

The money is being provided by construction firm the Mick George Group to Burghley Park Cricket Club as part of its Community Fund.

In total, the company has now donated more than £200,000 to local groups in 2020.

Since the initiation of the scheme, more the 140 separate beneficiaries have received more than £4 million.

Stuart Costello, marketing director at Mick George Ltd, said: “The financial support that we’re able to provide reflects the businesses performance in the last six months.

“We’re pleased to declare that the company is currently in a very healthy position, achieving attractive results and growth, owing largely to the support of local communities that we operate in. This is our way of giving something back, to show our appreciation.”
