PL Bison Ltd has received planning permission from Peterborough City Council to transform the vacant offices at Peppercorn Close in New England into four studios, five one-bedroom apartments and three two-bedroom apartments.

Similar plans had previously been rejected by the council as an “adequate noise assessment” had not been provided, but those concerns have now been addressed.

The proposals will see 18 of the existing 20 car parking spaces retained for people moving into the properties with cycle storage also provided.

Blenheim Court

The application submitted to the council stated: “Units 2 & 3 at Blenheim Court are currently unoccupied with little (to no) prospects of being occupied for business offices due to the lack of demand in this location and with the current economic climate as a result of the global pandemic.

“The proposal provides well needed housing for the smaller household sector of high quality self-contained apartments at affordable rental prices.”
