Tommy passed away on Thursday October 8, aged 76, after a battle with motor neurone disease.

He was a much loved figure in the city after making a club-record 559 appearances for Posh and scoring 128 goals.

He then went on to dedicate much of his working life to the city, hosting many charity and hospitality events.

His death prompted an outpouring of love from across the city, be it ex-players, club officials, business people and many more. Tommy’s family have spoken of how this feeling has comforted them in this difficult time.

The funeral takes place this Friday but due to Covid restrictions, only a limited number of people are allowed to attend the service at the crematorium.

However, fans will get the chance to say their own goodbyes outside the Weston Homes Stadium.

His son Ian said: “In normal times, the funeral would have been in the cathedral as dad knew so many people. So I’m sure he would be delighted that people can be there in some capacity.”
