For more than 18 years Peterborough Lions has been selling its quiz sheets, and this year the president’s project is the Peterborough Rape Crisis Care Group.

However, the charity has now announced that this year its £1.50 quiz sheet will also support the Poppy Appeal.

This year’s quiz theme is ‘Sweet Tooth’.

The Lions said: “As we enter the second Covid lockdown, amongst the charities hardest hit will be the Poppy Appeal which traditionally sells poppies in shops and pubs which are now closed.

“So from the start of lockdown on November 5 until Remembrance Day on November 11, Peterborough Lions Club will donate 50 per cent of all quiz sheet sales made via our website to the Royal British Legion.

“This includes past issues, if you’ve missed any, as well as any donations added at checkout.

“Of course the other 50 per cent will also be put to good use supporting great causes around Peterborough, including our president’s project for 2020/21, Peterborough Rape Crisis Care Group.

“As we struggle our way through 2020 we pause to remember past struggles, lest we forget those who got us through them.

“You can buy your ‘Sweet Tooth’ quiz sheet on our online store, peterboroughlions.org.uk/store.”
