Peterborough’s John Lewis stays closed as retailer opens nine more stores nationally
It is the second time in a fortnight that John Lewis bosses have declined to include the Queensgate shopping centre-based store among its initial openers following the lifting of lockdown restrictions.
The nine stores included in the third tranche of branches to re-open will begin trading again on June 25.

John Lewis operates 50 stores nationally and the Peterborough branch underwent a £21 million revamp last year - the largest spend by the retailer on a single store.
Twenty eight other stores in the Queensgate centre resumed trading on Monday after the 12 weeks temporary closure during the Covid-19 crisis.
A company spokeswoman said: “Further announcements on reopenings will be made in the coming weeks and more customers will be allowed in stores following lessons learned from the stores already open.”
