Nick set up Excel Auto Care in Holme Road, Yaxley, four years ago - and has gone from strength to strength.

Of this latest accolade - voted for earlier this year by PT readers - Nick said: “We worked hard making sure people knew we were in the competition. But with lockdown and everything else we had forgotten, I guess, so this is a nice pleasant surprise.”

Nick was full of praise for his team of technicians, who carry out MOTs, repairs, services - “we do it all, and they are a great bunch to have working here,” he said.

“We have got some great customers and we think we look after them.

“We are a very forward thinking business and are customer focussed. We go the extra mile because we believe every customer matters - young, old, those that know nothing about cars and those that do.

“And that comes across; once they have sampled that level of service they receive here they come back again, they don’t go anywhere else.

“We keep our customers happy and that has come across in the competition. I am delighted to have won.”

And Nick said it was nothing new.

“We have been here for four years and have not changed our strategy from day one,” he said.

“It is all about the customer - and offering a dealer level service at a local garage price. And we do a proper job.”
