The Prince was in the city with The Queen to open Peterborough Magistrates’ Court and The Cresset - and Jeremy Roberts had connections with both.
Jeremy said: “I was a solicitor and a young County Councillor at the time on the Cambridgeshire County Council.

“Prince Philip must have remembered me from the Court because he said to me on being introduced ‘Have you run all the way from the Court to come and see us again?’
“I just laughed but it was an example of his good humour to put people at ease and he will be sadly missed.”
An online book of condolence has been set up in Peterborough to pay tribute to The Duke of Edinburgh, while a special service will take place at Peterborough Cathedral on Friday to remember the Prince.
