Hannah Thompson from Foster Road, Sugar Way, was diagnosed with having multiple cavernous haemangiomas last summer, little more than a year after her dad Gary nearly died from the same condition.
A cavernoma is a cluster of abnormal blood vessels, usually found in the brain and spinal cord. The symptoms that cavernomas can cause vary in severity. Some are seizures, severe headaches, haemorrhagic strokes and neurological problems such as slurred speech.

Hide AdHannah is currently trying to raise £3,000 for Cavernoma Alliance UK by the end of August after the family praised the charity for helping them to get through a tough time. And to help her reach her target Hannah is hosting a series of events in the coming days.
People are invited to join the family for a friendly cuppa and slice of cake (or buy cake if they cannot stay) on Friday, February 21 at 33 Foster Road (PE2 9RS) from 10am to 4pm.
There will also be a tombola and name the penguin, while cake can also be pre-ordered.
Anyone unable to attend can make a donation at: https://www.gofundme.com/f/CaverFamilies-Summer-Residential-2020.
