Dr Liz Robin, Director of Public Health for Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council, said: “As we move into the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, there are some signs that our social distancing measures are working, both locally and nationally.

“But the numbers of confirmed coronavirus cases and deaths are still rising, and we do not know when the peak of the epidemic will be. This means it is absolutely essential that we continue to follow the national stay at home rules over the bank holiday weekend and beyond.”

Dr Robin also spoke of a an audio recording, which she said was obviously fake, purporting to be from an ambulance worker. Dr Robin urged people not to forward on the message as it was fake news, and could alarm vulnerable people.
