Peterborough death notices: Funeral notices for this week include ‘loving’ grandad and couple who passed away ‘within days of each other’

Some may be more well known than others, but all had a place in someone’s heart and in our communities.

Alwyn Whitecross
Alwyn Grant Whitecross passed away suddenly at home on 21st July 2026, aged 86 years.
Loving husband of Irene, dearest dad of James and Adrian and loving brother of Janice.
The funeral service will take place at Peterborough Crematorium on 26th August 2026 at 3.00pm.

Mark Mowbray
Mark Mowbray passed away peacefully on 29th July 2026 aged 64 years.
Beloved husband of Noi. Much loved dad of Megan and loving grandad of Luna.
Dear brother and friend who will be greatly missed. Funeral service to take place on Friday 4th September, 11:00am at Peterborough Crematorium. Family flowers only, but if desired, donations for Macmillan Cancer Support may be given at the service or via Smiths Funeral Directors .
Brenda Hirst
Brenda Hirst died in hospital on 28th July 2026.
The funeral service will take place at St Benedict's Church at Glinton on the 17th August 2026 at 2.30pm.
Flowers may be sent to the Chapel of Rest at Stanground Funeral Home.
Donations in lieu if desired may be made at the service at St Benedict's Church and Peterborough Crematorium in memory of Brenda.

Lynn and Paul Collinson
Lynn and Paul Collinson sadly passed away within days of each other.
Funeral Service and Thanksgiving Service to take place on Friday 21st August, 12.30pm at Peterborough Crematorium.

Terence Askew
Terence George Askew peacefully passed away on 2nd August 2026, aged 79 years.
Beloved dad of Cathy and Paul, dearly loved brother, grandfather and friend to many who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
