Hide AdTo mark Armed Forces Week, the council, together with Cambridgeshire County Council and Cambridge City Council are among the signatories to the Armed Forces Covenant, a commitment from the public and private organisations to support the active and retired Armed Forces community.
Armed Forces Week is a chance to show support for currently serving troops, including reservists, as well as veterans, cadets and their families. Each day of Armed Forces Week has seen different parts of the military highlighted, culminating in the 12th annual Armed Forces Day tomorrow (June 27).
During the week the Armed Forces Day flag has been raised ‘virtually’ across the county - and Peterborough City Council have organised a short virtual service.

Councillor John Fox, Armed Forces champion for Peterborough City Council, said: "I really would encourage everyone to take a minute this week to reflect on the role our military personnel, past and present, and their families and associates play in supporting our great nation. We may not be together physically, but they are certainly on our minds."
