Christina Alexander, communities manager for PCVS, which provides expert support to help charities, community groups, volunteers and residents in Peterborough, said: “We felt many of our member groups were failing to secure the funding that they desperately needed due to avoidable reasons such as not allowing enough time between applying for the grant and starting their project, having unrealistic budgets or having a lack of evidence to support their project.

“Some applicants particularly struggled where English was not their first language. We wanted to therefore provide a relaxed, friendly environment to encourage discussion, where people could come for support and feel confident and comfortable enough to talk about their sticking points and both share and pick up tips to avoid the common pitfalls when applying.”

The first session of The Funding Club will be held on Thursday, February 4.
